Speaking of screens I was still thinking about Lee holding Eddy at the end of BPS so I snagged a screenshot of that. He is so tiny.
In fact the only Kanker ship I don't cave is EddMarie. I guess Marie's interest is the most underveloped of the sisters, and unlike May and Lee, she didn't shown any true love gesture for her respective Ed. I mean May did cry over Ed in HPH and Lee tried defend Eddy from his bro (and if I remember something, she also carved them in a tree in one episode). Marie, on other side, just seem insanely jealous and a kind of yandere (which is more toxic than romantic), but does nothing for Edd's affections. I guess her feelings are the least genuine in fact, and that Edd really needs to be protected from her. Your thoughts?
And by the way, what do you think of EddMay also?
Anonymous askedYeah I don’t see eddmarie working out either. Which is funny because it is wildly popular, probably the most out of the edxkanker ships. Marie clearly likes to mess with Edd and is possessive of him like her sisters are with their respective Eds. Maybe slightly more, possibly because that’s her personality. I interpret her as the middle child and if you know anything about being the middle sibling it kinda explains itself 👀
Also I think it was @doubledyke recently responding to a similar question and I kind of feel similarly to them that it’s hard to imagine because I also think Marie is just straight up a lesbian. Could be part of why she doesn’t seem to genuinely like him 🤷 oddly enough Edd gets flustered in a way that would suggest he’s not entirely terrified and repulsed by Marie (this could be what the shippers are clinging to). Where as Eddy shows zero interest in Lee and girls make Ed nervous so they must be “bad for Ed”.
I prefer to explore Edd and May as possible future friends! There little crush in HPH was probably genuine but short lived. It was sort of a nice opportunity for the crew to expand on that line from the series bible that says Edd is prone to crushes. There were few opportunities to explore that because of the small cast beyond his obvious crush on Nazz and a few awkward moments with Sarah (that’s mostly her crushing on him). Im not entirely against it though! It’s just not one I normally pick.
What do you think of this scene where Lee embraces Eddy near the ending of the movie, and then try to fight Bro to defend him? I found this really cute, and kind of conviced me Lee genuinely likes and cares for him (even if he don't return it, probably never will). I find a shame how many people don't talk about this.
